Ensuring Every Child Learns Water Safety

At Squiddles Swim School, we believe that every child deserves access to life-saving survival swim lessons, regardless of their family's financial situation. In memory of Devin and Conner, The Devin and Conner Dewald Memorial Fund a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, was created to provide scholarships to families who need financial assistance.

Our goal is to ensure that financial constraints never prevent a child from learning essential water safety skills. With the help of community donations and partnerships, we strive to protect more children by providing them with the skills to stay safe in and around water.

How the scholarship program works:

  • Scholarships are offered for each swim season (spring, summer, fall), depending on the number of spots available and the demonstrated need.

  • We aim to offer 6-10 scholarships annually if the need arises and the funds are available.

  • Recipients are selected based on demonstrated financial need. Parents must provide an explanation outlining their situation to be considered within their application submission.

  • Applications remain valid for one year (one swim season). If there is no funding available, applicants will be placed on a priority list for the following season.

  • Applications open every year on January 1st, and are valid for that swim season/year.

  • Winners must claim their scholarship during the swim season or session they applied for. If not used within that time, the scholarship may be forfeited.

  • No, scholarships are non-transferable and must be used by the family to which they are awarded.

Our Foundation Begins With

  • πŸ›Ÿ Survival First, Always

The focus is on teaching life-saving survival skills before swimming, ensuring children are equipped to handle emergencies in the water. No parent should ever experience the loss of a child to drowning.

  • 🌊 Confidence in the Water, Confidence in Life

Water safety lessons build confidence, empowering children and families to face life’s challenges with strength and resilience.

  • 🚫 No Shortcuts, No Excuses

Safety is non-negotiable. We do not cut corners or rely on flotation devices as a substitute for skill-building.  We teach real survival skills, ensuring every child leaves with the ability to survive an aquatic accident.

  • 🀝 Community Over Competition

We collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and organizations to create a shared culture of water safety, making safety education accessible to all.
